Benitez Incar Striker Bolton
Rafael Benitez siap bersaing dengan mantan klubnya, Liverpool, untuk mendapatkan Johan Elmander.
Performa gemilang Elmander di musim ini menarik perhatian sejumlah klub top Eropa. Selain Liverpool, klub lain yang dikabarkan tertarik mendapatkannya adalah Inter Milan.
Menurut Daily Mirror, Benitez memantau perkembangan Elmander sejak masih melatih Liverpool yang diyakininya punya potensi besar. Penyerang Bolton itu sudah mencetak delapan gol di Liga Primer Inggris musim ini.
Penyerang asal Swedia itu pernah menyatakan ingin bertahan di Bolton tapi kalau ada tawaran yang menarik dari klub seperti Inter masih ada peluang untuk membuatnya berubah pikiran.
Kabar rencana hengkangnya Samuel Eto’o ke Real Madrid pada Januari nanti bisa saja membuat Inter mengincar striker baru. Benitez pun menempatkan Elmander sebagai salah satu target utamanya.

Inter Masuk Final, Tapi Cambiasso Kecewa
Esteban Cambiasso mengaku kecewa karena tidak bisa bertemu kompatriotnya yang bermain di Internacional. Kekalahan klub Brasil itu dari TP Mazembe, membuat mereka gagal menembus Final untuk berjumpa dengan Inter Milan.
Keberhasilan Internazionale melaju ke partai Final Piala Dunia Klub memang disyukuri oleh punggawa mereka asal Argentina, Esteban Cambiasso. Namun, ia juga menyimpan kekecewaan menjelang pertandingan Final melawan tim asal Republik Demokratik Kongo, Mazembe, hari Sabtu (18/12) mendatang.
Keberhasilan Mazembe menembus Final membuat Cambiasso tidak bisa berjumpa tiga rekan Argentina-nya di klub Internacional, Roberto ‘Pato’ Abbondanzieri, Andres D’Alessandro dan Pablo Guinazu.
Internacional gagal menembus Final, setelah secara mengejutkan kalah 0-2 dari Mazembe di Semifinal.
“kami senang karena berhasil masuk Final. Mengenai lawan kami, tidak ada yang bisa dilakukan. Saya mengenal beberapa pemain seperti Andres, Pato and Cholo (Guinazu) dan kami sempat ngobrol, karena mereka akan senang berada disini bersama kami, Tetapi kami tidak punya kekuatan apapun untuk mengubah hasil pertandingan itu.” Ujar cambiasso menanggapi kekalahan Internacional atas mazembe.
Meski kecewa tidak bisa bertemu Internacional, Cambiasso tetap memuji calon lawannya di Final.

Inter Lolos Ke Final, Benitez Susah Tidur
Pelatih Inter Rafael Benitez mengaku tidak bisa tidur nyenyak setelah Inter memastikan satu tiket ke final Piala Dunia Antar Klub. I Nerazzurri menghabisi perwakilan Asia Seongnam Ilhwa 3-0 dan akan menghadapi TP Mazembe di partai puncak.
“Saya tidak bisa tidur,” kata Benitez di hadapan reporter di Abu Dhabi.
“Kami telah melakukan evaluasi dan melihat pemain yang siap diturunkan. Aksi Inter cukup memuaskan tetapi kami harus meningkatkan level permainan.
Sebuah laporan menyebut bek kanan asal Brasil Douglas Maicon akan tampil sebagai starter di final, tetapi Wesley Sneijder tidak akan beraksi karena mengalami cedera hamstring saat meladeni Seongnam.

Dream Theater-Scenes From A Memory
“Metropolis Part I,” a track featured on Dream Theater’s breakthrough, IMAGES AND WORDS, left many progressive rock enthusiasts with what seemed like another unfinished chapter in a story never to be completed. Seven years and five albums later, Dream Theater returned to its majestic beginnings with METROPOLIS PART II–SCENES FROM A MEMORY. Keyboard virtuoso Jordan Rudess, who was a logical replacement for Derek Sherinian, revitalized the band’s sound. Rudess’s collaboration with guitarist John Petrucci and drummer Mike Portnoy stole the attention of Dream Theater fans in the instrumental project, LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT.
METROPOLIS PART II is an epic concept album that makes a powerful artistic statement. The band is impressive in its ability to weave a suite of pieces together that share a common thread of recurring musical and lyrical themes similar to those first presented in “Metropolis I.” The heart of the tale is revealed in “Fatal Tragedy,” which centers on a murder mystery. The main character, Victoria Page, sees the man she once loved turning evil and in refusing his affections, she pays with her life. The lyrical point of view shifts from character to character, bringing about powerful results.

Review: Jordan Rudess – Notes on a Dream
The track list is indeed surprising, since most of the songs that he picked are songs that were written before he joined Dream Theater. Naturally for Jordan it would have been easier to take songs in which he was involved in writing and give them new interpretation, but Rudess, who is an integral part of the band and someone who grew up in the progressive rock world of the 70s is always looking for musical challenges so it’s not surprising that he chose20to travel back through time to the songs from Images and Words and Awake.
Rudess starts the album with Through Her Eyes from his first album with the band, Scenes from a Memory- an album that revived the musical career of the band. Originally a slow ballad, Rudess adds embellishment and colors the song beautifully. The track, Perpetuum Mobile, is an original piece he wrote which was influenced by the Baroque genre, a genre which shows off Jordan’s technique and feel, dramatic and complex playing.
Another Day starts with 1:30 of an eclectic and delightful piano improvisation and continues with solid playing with Rudess diverse arrangements. The second original piece on the album, The Grand Escapement, is a difficult track to play with its various counterpoints. Rudess proves his supreme dexterity as a pianist and you can only imagine how such a fascinating song would sound if we ever had the opportunity to hear Dre am Theater play it all together. Rudess performs all of the orchestra parts on his piano in The Spirit Carries On, one of the most exciting songs in this album. Following that, Rudess surprisingly picks Speak to Me, a song that never made it onto one of the band’s albums, and adds lots of depth and emotions.
Jordan Rudess proves that the piano is the ultimate musical instrument for expressing feel and emotions, and does it in the best way. The classical influences are obvious, and for a pianist like me who grew up on classical music from an early age, it’s a delight. He remains loyal to the original melodies but doesn’t hesitate to enter his own interpretations whenever needed, which adds a lot of interest into the album. To sum up, this album comes at a great time, just moments before the release of the new Dream Theater album. It combines melodic songs, offers us up the best keyboard player the band ever had and proves that his creative ideas are infinite. It doesn’t matter how strong a Dream Theater fan you are, this album is a must for everyone who knows to appreciate quality music.
